Records from 84 students were examined, 184 record units were extracted and 5 core-categories of students' learning (<Nursing function on clients' social participation> <Interaction between nurses and clients> <Nursing function on controlling psychiatric condition> <Nursing function on environment for clients> <Nursing function on living life skills for clients>) were composed. Through practice at community based institutions, students interacted with people with mental illness who were living in a community and learned the importance of providing nursing that is aiming for their rehabilitation.
