The purpose of this practice is to become able to evaluate suitable drugs for individual patients and to write correct prescriptions. The term of the practice was changed during the 15 years, at first it was 1 day, then extended to 5 days, and now it is 3 days. The practice involeved the following : 1) lecture about clinical pharmacy and drugs used in dentistry, 2) study by observation of drug management and drug preparation, 3) practice to prescribe and study about dental drugs. Students also write a paper on drug therapy and side effects of drugs. The practice established that almost all students were able to understand how to evaluate the efficacy and safety of drugs used with package inserts or formulary, and they were able to write appropriate prescriptions.
