The 3D US system consisted of a transducer holder and a personal computer. Normal two-dimensional US images were collected and formed into a 3D image by the computer. The 3D image could be viewed on the computer monitor. The errors due to this method were smaller than the resolution of the ultrasonography in basic tests.
