| 内容記述 | Aim: To conduct a physiological psychology study in settings that resemble everyday situations, we developed audiovisual stimuli designed to elicit positive or negative emotions. Method: Fifty-two university students (26 males, mean age 20.5 years) participated in the study. Participants rated the valence and arousal of positive, negative, and neutral words spoken by avatars of the opposite sex on a 7 -point scale. Results: The positive and negative stimuli elicited higher arousal levels compared to the neutral stimuli, with no significant difference in arousal between them. The positive stimuli induced pleasant emotion, while the negative stimuli induced unpleasant emotion. The valence ratings did not overlap among the stimuli. Conclusion: These stimuli are capable of manipulating the emotional valence of the positive and negative audiovisual stimuli while maintaining a constant level of arousal. Utilizing audiovisual stimuli that combine an avatar’s facial expressions with corresponding words would enable psychological experiments with high ecological validity. |
