| 内容記述 | Statistical study of advanced age (over 65 years old) patients at Health Sciences University of Hokkaido Dental Hospital (HSUHDH) for 2 years from May 1992 to March 1994. At HSUHDH anesthetetics (there were) 11 advanced age patients (65-86 years old) administered dental surgery. Advanced age patients have systemic diseases such as hypertension, cardiovascular complaints, diabetes mellitus, and complexes of these. It was necessary to monitor blood pressure, take electrocardiograms, and percutaneous O_2.Inhalation sedation with 30% nitrous oxide was administered to 1 advanced age patient, and intravenous sedation to 10 advanced age patients (diazepam 3 cases, flunitrazepam 5 cases, Jorgensen technique 1 case, diazepam and ketamine 1 case). The application of psychosedation was found useful in performing dental surgery safely and avoiding patient fears. For the future, there is expected to be increases in the number of advanced age patients in dental surgery and general dental practice. For this, a positive application of psychosedation will be required. | |||||
