| 内容記述 | Chronic osteomyelitis caused by overuse of antibiotics is increasing This reports a case of chronic osteomyelitis of the mandible and various clinical findings A 75-year-old female was referred to the Urausu Public Dental Clinic with the chief complaint of painful swelling on the right cheek and was administered antibiotic therapy and root canal treatment of the first and second premolars in the right mandible The swelling reduced but the spontaneous pain was continued Then the two teeth were extracted and the pain subsided However, two months later, hypoesthesia of the lower lip, slight pain of the cheek, percussion pain of the lateral incisor and canine tooth in the right mandible, and dental fistula on the alveolar ridge in the right molar region appeared At this time, the radiograph showed diffuse radiolucency in the right mandibular body The lesion was diagnosed as chronic osteomyelitis of the mandible and necrectomy was perfomed under general anesthesia It showed that the lesion involved the inferior alveolar nerve Though extremely slight hypoesthesia of the left lower lip remains, there is no sign of recurrence one year after the surgery | |||||
