| 内容記述 | This study examined morphological changes in cementocytes of the cellular cementum on the pressure side during experimental tooth movement, using hematoxylin and eosin-stained sections, an immunohistochemical method with antibody for single stranded-DNA, and confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM). The upper first molars of 8-week-old Wistar rats were forced to move buccally by nickel-titanium wire. The following results were obtained : 1. Nuclear condensation and fragmentation appeared in several cementocytes adjacent to the hyalinized PDL. These cells showed a positive reaction to the antibody for single stranded DNA. 2. The number of cementocytes with apoptosis progressively increased up to 2 days. 3. At 4 days, the number of cementocytes, which were positive for the single stranded-DNA antibody had decreased, and the number of empty lacunae increased. These results demonstrate that cementocytes in the cellular cementum adjacent to the hyalinized PDL underwent cell death via apoptosis. | |||||
